Teams will need to think on their feet to get extra points in the Virtual League. Throughout the Shell Eco-marathon season their technical knowledge has been put to the test, along with their quick thinking and innovation, with a chance to highlight the creativity of the students in a series of fun social media challenges.
The first Bonus Challenge, a fun Shell Eco-marathon Quiz, tested teams on the programme’s history, the rules, motorsports trivia and much more.
The last Bonus Challenge is the Road to 2050 where teams are asked to creatively answer this question in a 30-second advert: What should mobility look like in your future?
Earlier this year, Shell set out its new Powering Progress strategy with a target to become a net zero emissions energy business by 2050.
For 35 years and counting, Shell Eco-marathon has brought to life this growing need for more sustainable energy solutions throughout society, by empowering talented and passionate STEM students with a platform to put their own ideas into action. This bonus challenge gives students the chance to put their STEM skills into action on the Road to 2050.
The winning teams will earn up to 100 extra points for the Virtual League Table, plus some exclusive prizes in collaboration with Shell Motorsports and Nissan e.dams Formula E team.
