Announcing the winners of the Road to 2050 Bonus Challenge, Virtual Tech Inspection and the 2021 Global Virtual League.
The Road to 2050 – a new Shell Eco-marathon competition, supported by Microsoft.
The final Bonus Challenge in the global Virtual League and the last chance for Shell Eco-marathon teams to earn bonus points in the 2021 season.
Participating teams had to submit a 30-second ad answering this big question: What should mobility look like in your future?
The judges were inspired by the creativity and breadth of thinking that went into the ads, and from more than 50 entries received, just nine teams across the three regions were shortlisted for the public vote.
The final scores are now in and we’re delighted to announce the Road to 2050 winning teams below.

Why have we set this challenge?
Earlier this year, Shell set out its new ‘Powering Progress’ strategy – with a target to become a net zero emissions energy business by 2050.
Microsoft has committed to being carbon negative by 2030 and removing the company’s historical carbon emissions by 2050. It is because of this ambition that they are a partner of Shell Eco-marathon and the Road to 2050 challenge. A challenge focused on the future of mobility and telling this story in the most compelling and creative way.
