To mark the end of the 2021 Virtual Programme and celebrate the remarkable achievements of teams, Shell Eco-marathon hosted a virtual awards ceremony for the Season Finale.

Norman Koch was joined by colleagues, partners and special guests to announce the winners of the Road to 2050 Bonus Challenge, the Virtual Tech Inspection and the Global Virtual League in our biggest and most prestigious virtual awards show of the season.

Nowadays, urban mobility is based on combustion engines, which makes society dependent on non-renewable sources. But how can new technologies improve this? Electric cars already widely used in developed countries. With the advancement of autonomous direction, traffic can become safer. Means of transportation based on electric motors and low-friction technologies already exist and may be the future of a more sustainable mobility. Magnetic levitation trains are faster and more efficient. Those alternatives are less expensive to us and the environment. The future is our present.
