After a successful introduction in 2021, the Virtual League returns in 2022 with even more opportunities for teams to compete against international peers and win exciting prizes! Teams will have to chance to earn points for each of the league component competitions throughout the year. The Team with the highest number of points at the end of the virtual programme will be the grand winners of the 2022 Virtual League!

All teams wishing to take part in any Shell Eco-marathon activity in 2022, both virtual and on-track, must first and foremost register at the general season registration, open from September 1 – November 10, 2021. Please note that the submission period for the first virtual challenge of the season, Future Rider, is October 1 – 28, 2021; if you want to take part in this challenge, you must complete the general registration before the end of the submission period.
Yes, individual submission pages will be available for each virtual competition and you can register up to 20 team members. Only these individuals will be eligible to receive a certificate of participation for that particular competition.
Yes, registered team members will receive certificates for the Virtual League competition they take part in.
Prize money will be awarded for each of the Virtual League components, excluding the Bonus Challenges, where you can only earn extra points. For more information, see article 104 of the Shell Eco-marathon 2022 Global Rules, Chapter I.
