Real life stories of perseverance, compassion, empathy and innovation

These values have formed the backbone of Shell Eco-marathon since it began in 1985 and we are consistently inspired by how the student teams embody them daily.

2020 was a year of unexpected change for everyone, and the last few months have showed that these qualities are more important than ever, not just for Shell Eco-marathon, but in everything we do. But to these incredible young people, change presented opportunities to make a positive difference.

This summer we ran a virtual competition, where we asked teams to nominate themselves or others for their contributions of passion, creativity and collaboration which reflect the values of Shell Eco-marathon. These stories are the result and highlight how they have used their STEM skills to contribute to the greater good of others.
